Japanese Supplementary School in Alsace

Created in 1986, the Japanese Supplementary School in Alsace is located in a high school in Strasbourg (France), within 5 minutes walking distance from the city centre and easily accessible.

The school is accreditated by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (外務省) and the Japanese Ministry of Education (文部省).

 

The school offers japanese lessons to Kindergarten (幼稚部), 

Primary/elementary and secondary/high school (小中学部) children.

The school is run by Association Pour l'Enseignement du Japonais en Alsace (APEJA) a non-profit organisation managed by a board of directors elected by parents.

Japanese classes and additional activities

Primary/elementary and secondary/high school classes (小中学部) for 6 to 16-year-old children are held every Saturday (except holidays) from 9:30 to 11:30. 

Kindergarten lessons (幼稚部for 3 to 5-year-old children are also held every Saturday (except holidays) from 9:30 to 11:30.

 

These lessons are often followed by additional activities

from 11:30 to 12:00 :

- Calligraphy,

- Japanese Culture : tea ceremony, etc.

- Japanese folklore : Hina Matsuri , Setsubun, etc.

- Events : entrance and year-end ceremonies, Summer festival, etc

- Borrowing books from the library.
